WELCOME TO THE PROGRAM!Week 4
We all have challenging things that have happened to us. If we aren’t careful, we might carry those things as burdens and pain for a long time and remain unaware that we can use it as fuel to create power. One thing that we want to avoid is "bypassing." This occurs when we do not fully process a situation and jump to "acceptance" before we have dealt with the issue. Sometimes, we are even encouraged to use affirmations or other positive thought forms without adequately dealing with what is underneath. So we convince ourselves that we can just "get over it" or "think positive," or that "it is what it is." We adopt a stiff upper lip and let things roll off our backs. With this exercise, we want to acknowledge and accept [not bypass] these things. Take ownership and see with gratitude how you got through ... Was it family? Was it friends? Really feel into that gratitude. It can be your own strength. Maybe you need to look back and see just how far you’ve come (especially on days that you feel behind). Challenge for the week:
The Hard Things
Challenge Trauma Crap Default Positivity Things we say to try to feel better or "get over it." Transmute with Gratitude What I have gained... What I have learned... Who I am because of... 1. 2. 3. Prioritize Pleasure
Do less of what you don’t like to do, and more of what you love. Dream a little:
Don’t worry about how to make it happen What's your ideal 12 hr day at home (down to earth)? Ideal 12 hr day not at home (more fantastical) |
